Upon engagement, BMW was already in the process of developing their personal mobility assistant. Their internal teams had completed formal research which outputted personas and user needs. However, they wanted to collaborate with an outside team so that could help transform their product; That’s where we came in. We began by collaborating, sketching, and storyboarding concepts that later turned into a high-fidelity Axure prototype. We used this prototype to facilitate feedback during weekly guerilla style user research. A few challenges we encountered while transforming their current product were (1) designing experiences for features that already existed functionally and (2) designing on an aggressive agile timeline. Many times we had to create designs that satisfied development scope without compromising the integrity of the user experience. This application recently launched on the iTunes store and is receiving positive ratings.
